Crude oils and natural gases are mixtures of hydrocarbon molecules (organic compounds of carbon and hydrogen atoms) containing from 1 to 60 carbon atoms. The properties of these hydrocarbons depend on the number and arrangement of the carbon and hydrogen atoms in their molecules. The basic hydrocarbon molecule is 1 carbon atom linked with 4 hydrogen atoms (methane). All other variations of petroleum hydrocarbons evolve from this molecule. Hydrocarbons containing up to 4 carbon atoms are usually gases; those with 5 to 19 carbon atoms are usually liquids; and those with 20 or more are solids. In addition to hydrocarbons, crude oils and natural gases contain sulphur, nitrogen and oxygen compounds together with trace quantities of metals and other elements.

Scenic Limited Company believed Crude oil and natural gas have been formed over millions of years by the decay of vegetation and marine organisms, compressed under the weight of sedimentation. Because oil and gas are lighter than water, they rose up to fill the voids in these overlying formations. This upward movement stopped when the oil and gas reached dense, overlying, impervious strata or nonporous rock. The oil and gas filled the spaces in porous rock seams and natural underground reservoirs, such as saturated sands, with the lighter gas on top of the heavier oil. These spaces were originally horizontal, but shifting of the earth’s crust created pockets, called faults, anticlines, salt domes and stratigraphic traps, where the oil and gas collected in reservoirs.

We transact in over 100 different grades of crude oil in locations globally and are active across major centres where crude is produced, refined and traded, enabling our customers to benefit from critical intelligence and access to the most appropriate market. As a physical trader, we can deliver crude anywhere our customers require. We are one of the world’s largest spot charterers of crude vessels and have a dedicated fleet of various sizes, as well as access to storage on land around the world.

OIL AND GAS EXPLORATION

Scenic Limited Company is a Canadian oil and gas exploration company that holds interests in three licenses in the Guyana Basin; a proven petroleum basin with over 8 Billion Barrels of recoverable oil equivalent discovered to date. Since 1997, Scenic Limited Company has been an active explorer both onshore and offshore Guyana. The company has drilled two operated exploration wells on its offshore Corentyne Block and drilled three more exploration wells on its onshore Berbice Block. In addition, Scenic Limited Company has acquired and processed over 7,000 km² of 3D seismic data on its offshore licenses. Using these data, Scenic Limited Company has developed a low risk, high reward prospect inventory and is now poised to drill two exploration wells, with Joint Venture Partner Frontera Energy Corporation, in the near term on its offshore Corentyne and Demerara Blocks. The next exploration well on the Corentyne Block is located in the northern region of the Block, adjacent and on-trend with major commercial discoveries (Haimara and Pluma on the Stabroek Block and Maka Central, Sapakara West and Kwaskwasi on Block 58 in Suriname) located mere miles from the Northern Corentyne region. An independent resource estimate report is currently in process. The next exploration well on the Demerara Block is located in the Western Region of the Block, adjacent with the Joe and Jethro discoveries on the Orinduik Block. The well is expected to have high quality, light oil similar to the Liza Field on the Stabroek Block as it will receive its hydrocarbon charge from the same source kitchen on the adjacent Stabroek Block. An independent resource estimate report is currently in process. Scenic Limited Company, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Grand Canal Industrial Estates Inc. is involved in the development of the Berbice Deep Water Port in Region 6, Guyana.
